On June 4th, we sailed effortlessly past this community’s 4th anniversary.

As I’ve done previously (see the 3rd, 2nd and 1st Anniversary topics) I’d like to take a brief victory lap…
First—as I’ve said before, and will continue to say forever—this community wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our @members. Thank you! Your monetary support literally keeps this place running.
Also, hat in hand: There are perks to becoming a supporting member: There are a couple categories you don’t see until you become a supporting member, plus the ability to join our Campfires. For full details see, What’s inside for our Supporting Members. Please consider supporting what’s happening here.
Next, there are a few people who over the years have gone above and beyond in their care and generosity. I’d like to give a second dollop of thanks to our Influencers! Your contributions have changed this community, shifted my thinking, and made everything (not just this community) better. You rock!
I’d also like to say, “Thank you for believing in this idea!” to all those early adopters who leapt first, four years ago. Thank you, Founding Members!
Traffic around here continues to grow slowly. Which is just fine. I’ve been diligent (and Discourse makes it pretty easy) about keeping the spamming/ trolling things at bay. Because, even though it’s quiet around here, there are actually a lot of people here reading and thinking.
Some numbers…
- There are 500 to 1,000 page views, to our 200+ logged-in users every month, and there are about that many more page views by anonymous visitors—people but who are not logged in at all.
- But we serve a lot more than that. Last month we served more than 37,000 page views in total. So there is an ENORMOUS amount of traffic that is bots’, search engines, LLM/AI training on our content, etc.
I am quite proud of the fact that we—not me, but all of you!—make the Internet a better place for independent podcasters everywhere by publishing high-quality, free, public content on the Open Web.
What else?
I could probably type forever, but I’d like to here some of your stories from the past year!
