How and when you get notifications
Do you want emails? …desktop notifications? …immediately? …only when you don’t visit the site?
How you get notified, and when you get notified, can be configured in your preferences.
Click your avatar at the top right, then choose the little person-silhouette, then click preferences…
“Preferences” will be highlights on the first row of choices. Then click “Notifications” on the second row. Also click on the “Emails” option, and if you scroll that second row (notice the little > icon at the right side), there are also notification options for the Chat system.
What you get notified about
The platform has useful defaults for your account. It will even adjust the notifications on a particular topic where you have spent time reading or replying.
In various places you will notice a bell-icon. Clicking that icon will let you adjust the notification level for that particular part of the platform (an individual topic, a category, on tags too.)
