What role does community play?

You’re only seeing this post because you are already a supporting member of this community. (Thanks for that.)

So I want to know…

What role does community play in your podcasting practice?

And, not just the Podcaster Community, but any/all communities that you belong to.

Do you feel like you’re podcasting in isolation or, do you have a network of peers? How important is that support, and how do you nurture it?

I’ve been thinking about inviting members of the Podcaster Community to work with other members to create single episodes… and then publishing those episodes (sort of like the old Pod Buffet, if you remember that). That way you could post your idea (“I’d like to try an episode where . . .”) and then work with someone you may or may not know already. Without having to also create an entire podcast show, just to publish the work. Just a thought . . .

PodComm is a warm, intelligent, supportive community. I’m glad the Campfires are back. I love working alone, but it’s nice to have a community that isn’t work, family, neighbors. It’s a cohort, very much in the spirit of the Akimbo Podcast Workshop (nee Podcast Fellowship).

I like the idea of pairing up to try something new. Nice idea!
