My concern is that if everyone just makes a new topic, every time they post… well, that’s what podcasts (shows, feeds, podcast players, etc.) are for. …why also do that here?
On the other hand, it would be cool to be able to have a little community where we can cheer when we each create an episode…
ideas
We could encourage posting new replies under our own show’s topic in #podcasts … that would bump your show to the top of the activity… that category is public, so you do get more eyes… anyone who doesn’t want to see that stuff, can mute that category, or even just mute your show’s topic…
Meanwhile, people who are interested can dial up the notifications on that category, or on your specific show…
I also like that this (getting to make noise about each of your episodes) would then be a supporting-members feature. …and I can set about dissuading that behavior if non-supporters try to post their shows in Public
…trying to walk the line of creating a community that is self-sustaining, feature-rich, not too noisy.
I’m thinking the way to do this would be to post a reply, under one’s own topic in #public:supporters-podcasts — that will make that topic jump to the top. Anyone who wants to follow closely, they can set “Tracking” on that topic.
@Storyteller7 how’s that feel? …let me know if you want more explanation.
This sounds like a good idea, like ‘Dailies’ and one could also create a summary so people could hop to an episode they’re interested in (if they’re not already subscribed/ following on their player of choice). Thanks @craigconstantine!
