_ **Unfrosted** _, a pretty funny PopTarts romp by Jerry Seinfeld, took me on a winding road I didn’t quite expect…leading back to Seth’s _The Practice_ and Stephen Pressfield’s _The War of Art_.

Because Jerry Seinfeld was doing [lots of interviews](https://www.npr.org/2024/05/02/1248634090/unfrosted-jerry-seinfelds-movie-about-the-fictional-history-of-pop-tarts) around the time [the movie](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lqRPUhPfho) came out earlier this month, I hit the trusty “Discover” button in Pocket Casts.

And that’s how I stumbled across an interview with [Jerry Seinfeld on Tim Ferriss’s podcast](https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/485-jerry-seinfeld-a-comedy-legends-systems/id863897795?i=1000501727043) (episode #485) from December 8, 2020.

Listening to how Jerry Seinfeld works his own practice and routines, what he thinks about writing (“writing is _hard_ _work_”) and creativity, gave me a new perspective on this whole business of delivering creative goods.

My favorite line, about having the gift of creativity: “It’s like being given a horse. You have to learn to ride it. Or it will kill you.”
