_How Sruthi Tracks_ from The Sound School podcast has some great tips for tracking (recording voice narration as a separate track) which I’d never heard.

> (At Reply All) we try to track in a way that is closer to ‘I’m telling a story to somebody,‘” she says. “When we’re tracking, we almost always have a producer or someone in the room where we’re trying to recreate that feeling of ‘I’m here and I’m feeling the excitement and joy that I know exists in this story.’ ~ [Sruthi Pinnemaneni](https://twitter.com/sruthiri) of [_Reply All_](https://www.gimletmedia.com/reply-all)

I mentioned this podcast episode in Sunday’s Campfire call too. That topic has a couple more notes about tracking as well.
